HCL 6/462 Modern Hebrew I - Credit Hours: 3

Semester normally offered: Fall

Course Description

This course focuses on the fundamental structures of Hebrew and its basic forms. All verbs taught in the course will be in the present tense. Students will learn basic vocabulary mainly for talking about basic personal matters, read and write on a very limited scale, all based on the communicational approach.

Course Equivalencies

  • Language – Modern Hebrew

Course Objectives

By the end of the course, the student should be able to:

  • conduct very short conversations on basic everyday subjects in a very slow pace;
  • write very short passages on basic everyday topics;
  • read very short dialogues and texts; and
  • listen to very short conversations on daily matters in a very slow pace and understand such conversations.
